Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana: The Ministry of Women and Child Development launched a maternity benefit scheme that provides an incentive of Rs 5000/—to pregnant women aged 19 or more. This incentive is paid in three installments: 150 days, 180 days, and a periodic period.
The plan is for women who were working and suffered financial loss due to pregnancy. This incentive can be used to meet the daily nutritional requirements of pregnant women.
ETMVY is implemented through the portable factory (AWC). This work is being done with the IT/US Social Welfare Department and the Health and Family Welfare Department.
Benefits of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana
- First installment: Rs. 1000 /—for early registration of pregnancy in the Center (AWC) or recognized health facility. The concerned administration of the state or union territory decides.
- Second installment: Rs 2000/—is paid for at least one prenatal check (ANC) after the sixth month of pregnancy.
- Third installment: Rs 2000/- is paid after delivery, when the child gets the first dose of BCG, Operation Polio, DPT, and Hepatitis-B or its equivalent/alternative vaccination.
Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY): Under this, eligible beneficiaries are encouraged to provide nutrition and health care to pregnant women, and a total of Rs 6000/—is credited to the woman’s account.
Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana Eligibility
- The applicant should be at least 19 years old and pregnant.
- The applicant should be a working woman facing salary loss due to pregnancy.
- This scheme applies only to the first living child.
- The eligible beneficiary can apply for profit under this scheme within 270 days of childbirth.
- If the beneficiary has twins or more children in her second pregnancy and one or more girls, she will receive encouragement for another girl according to the PMMVY 2.0 rules.
Criteria for determining social and economically backward classes
- Women of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
- 40% or more disabled women (disabled persons).
- BPL (below poverty line) women holding ration cards.
- Women beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) under Ayushman Bharat.
- Women’s e-Labber Card holder.
- Beneficiary women farmer of Kisan Samman Nidhi.
- Women MNREGA job card holder.
- Whose annual family income is less than Rs 8 lakh.
- Anganwadi workers, Anganwadi assistants, and ASHA workers who are pregnant or breastfeeding women.
- Women ration card holder under NFSA Act 2013.
- Women of any other category specified by the central government.
No state plan has been availed or given a state place.
Women working regularly in Francis or the Central Government or State Government’s public sector corporations should not take advantage of this benefit.
How to fill Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana Form
For registration, the beneficiary must submit a full-fledged application form to 1-A, related documents, and with promise/consent from her husband to Belwadi center or recognized health facility.
The husband’s base information, her consent, the mobile number of the husband/family member, and the husband’s bank/post office details will have to be submitted.
- Get the form: Forms are free from established or recognized architectural healthcare centers. They can also be downloaded from the Ministry of Women and Child Development’s website.
- Application Process: Applicant must fill out the plan form for registration and installment claims and submit it in the kind of kindergarten center or recognized health facility. The beneficiaries should receive a receipt from Belwadi worker, Asha, or NNM for future reference.
- Application for the first installment: Form 1 will have to be filled, a copy of the MCP card (maternal and child protection card), and the beneficiary and her husband will have to submit the Aadhaar card, bank, or post office details. Form 1 is available here:
Second installment claim:
- To claim the second installment, the beneficiary must complete and submit form 1-B, which is available here. This form must be completed after six months of pregnancy.
- Along with this, one will have to submit a copy of the MCP card with at least one ANC (prenatal check) token.
Third installment claim:
- To claim the third installment, the beneficiary must submit the required form 1-C, which is available here.
- It will have to submit a copy of the child’s birth record and an MCP card and confirm that the child has received the first vaccination cycle or its equivalent.
Important Information:
- If the beneficiary has not registered under the scheme, it can apply anytime. However, she cannot apply after 730 days of pregnancy, even if she has not submitted any installment claim.
- If the MCP card is not recorded in the LMP (final menstrual) date and the beneficiary is claiming the third installment, then the date of birth of the claimed child should be deposited within 460 days. After this, no claim will be considered.

- A copy of the identity card (Aadhaar card of the beneficiary and her husband).
- Customer passbook or bank certificate.
