Lek Ladki Yojana: The State Government of Maharashtra launched the Lek Ladki Yojana on 1 August 2024.
Under this scheme, the state government provides Rs 1 lakh in financial assistance to increase the birth rate of girls in the state and encourage girls to pursue education.
In many parts of the state, girls are deprived of education due to poverty, and girls are married at an early age.
This is why the Maharashtra State Government and the Women and Child Development Department have launched the Lek Ladki Yojana to provide girls with education opportunities.
Under the Lek Ladki Yojana, girls in the state get benefits immediately after birth. However, the girl’s parents must fill out the form for the Lek Ladki Yojana offline.
Under this scheme, Rs 5,000 will be transferred to the bank account of the girl’s parents only after filling out the form through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.
Under the Lek Ladki Yojana, beneficiary girls in Maharashtra are provided financial assistance independently. For example, Rs 5,000 is given after the girl’s birth and Rs 4,000 after entering the first grade; thus, a total of Rs 1,00,000 is given to the girl until she is 18.
What is Lek Ladki Yojana
The Maharashtra State Government has started the application process through the Lek Ladki Yojana form. Under this scheme, Rs 1 lakh in assistance will be distributed to eligible girls through direct benefits transfer (DBT).
Due to poverty in the state, girls are deprived of education, so the state government has launched a Lek Ladki Yojana to increase the literacy rate of girls. With this, the girls of the state will get an opportunity for education, and they will be able to complete their education and create a bright future.
Lek Ladki Yojana Eligibility
- This scheme applies only to families holding yellow and orange ration cards.
Parents must fill out the form for the Lake Girl Scheme offline to get the benefit.
Application process
- The girl’s parents should visit the nearest Anganwadi center, CSC center, or government bridge facility and fill out the form.
- In addition, parents can also apply by downloading the Lake Girl Scheme Form PDF. Applications can be made by filling out the information requested in the PDF and submitting it to the respective centers.
Benefits under the scheme
- 5,000 rupees after the birth of a girl,
- Rs 4,000 for completing the first class,
- Rs 6,000 for completing sixth grade,
- 8,000 rupees for completing class XI,
- After that, if Rs 75,000 is 18, the amount will be deposited directly into the girl’s bank account through DBT mode.
Lek Ladki Yojana Application Eligibility
- The family of the beneficiary girl should be a resident of the state of Maharashtra.
- The beneficiary girl’s bank account should be in Maharashtra.
- The annual income of the applicant’s family should be less than Rs 1 lakh.
- The scheme’s benefit will be available only to the families of yellow and orange ration cards.
- The applicant must submit the family planning certificate to receive benefits in the second and third phases of the scheme.
Girls fulfilling these conditions can receive financial assistance under the scheme so that they can continue their education and become financially competent.

- First, you have to visit the nearest Anganwadi center, CSC Center, or Sarkar Setu Facilitation Center to get the form for the Lake Girl Scheme. You can also download the Lake Girl Plan Form PDF from the given link.
- After getting the form, fill in the information requested, such as the daughter’s name, the parents’ names, the address, etc.
- The required documents (e.g., Aadhaar card, birth certificate, etc.) must be attached to the application form.
- After attaching the document, complete the application form and submit it to the nearest Anganwadi center, CSC Center, or your Sarkar Setu Suvidha Kendra.
- After applying, you will get a receipt. Keep that receipt safe with you.
